Dear friends and colleagues!
The Organizing Committee of the MedChem-Russia conference heartily invites academic and university researchers, foreign scientists, representatives of the pharmaceutical business and medicine, undergraduate students and Ph.D. students to attend the 5th Russian Conference on Medicinal Chemistry, which will be held on October 5-8, 2021 in Volgograd.
MedChem-Russia conferences are held every 2 years in major scientific, educational and cultural centers of the Russian Federation. The first forum was held in 2013 in Moscow, the second – in 2015 in Novosibirsk, the third – in 2017 in Kazan, and the fourth – in 2019 in Ekaterinburg. The main goal of this international series of conferences is an in-depth analysis of current developments, novel approaches and state-of-the-art technologies in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug development. The conference will be held under the auspices of the European Federation of Medical Chemistry (EFMC), which renders it a prestigious international event.
The scientific program of the MedChem-Russia 2021 conference will include plenary lectures, oral presentations and poster presentations. The conference will include sections on computational chemistry, new approaches in medicinal chemistry, target-oriented drug design, domestic anti-infectious drugs, including COVID-19 infection, as well as drug substance production, development of dosage forms and drug manufacturing. As part of the conference, a satellite youth symposium will be held. Six opening lectures by leading specialists will be followed by oral presentations by young scientists, two poster sessions, as well as round tables on educational programs in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry fields to discuss ways to accelerate the implementation of innovative developments into practice. In addition to the scientific program, business events are scheduled to foster networking. The organizers consider making this international forum interesting for both scientists and industry representatives working in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug development as their main focus.
The conference venue is Volgograd State Medical University, Volgograd State Technical University, located in the Hero City of Volgograd, one of the largest domestic centers of science, education and industry.
A scientific school that emerged in Volgograd is widely known in Russia and abroad for its achievements in the field of pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and the development of new physiologically active compounds. The Volgograd State Medical University and the Volgograd State Technical University offer degree-granting programs for the chemical, pharmaceutical industry and healthcare of the country. Developments of the lead scientists of the Volgograd State Medical University significantly contribute to the creation of innovative medicines as a part of the Government’s program Pharma-2030. VolgGMU established a unique Scientific Center for Innovative Medicines, created as the implementation of the Pharma-2020 program. The Volgograd region traditionally has been a major center of the chemical industry. Thus, in Volgograd there are all the essentials for combining the efforts of industrial pharmaceutical enterprises, as well as research and educational institutions working in the field of organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, which will solve the strategic task of providing the population with modern medicines.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Volgograd!
